The Bentley Boys wedding and entertainment specialists had the absolute pleasure of playing at Conor and Catherine Mullan’s wedding in September of 2014 at the Brooklodge Hotel & Macreddin Village Co. Wicklow. A terrific night in a very special venue! Always so good to play there! The pictures capture what it is all truly about – fun, love and happiness wrapped up in music and dancing! Here is what Catherine had to say about The Bentley Boys. We are grateful for her glowing review, it’s even making us blush just a little bit!
The Back Story
Our story with Catherine and Conor started in June when they chatted to us at a Bentley Boys showcase – we perform in Dublin, Limerick, Belfast and Athlone on a regular basis. Both bride and groom were immediately interested in booking having seen us entertain and of course, we were more than happy to help them celebrate the biggest day of their lives! That’s our job!
It was then only a matter of deciding what other wedding services they required. We offer jazz for the pre-dinner drinks reception, a party band consisting of up to 12 members and a full DJ service. Chatting together we combined our knowledge of the venue, with their guest numbers and musical requirements to allow us to come up with a bespoke package perfectly suited to their day. The lovely couple went for one of our recommended wedding day packages incorporating a two-piece jazz duo during the drinks reception, a post-dinner party band and a DJ to round off the night. The party band Catherine and Conor choose was our seven piece ensemble that features a saxophone and trumpet player, along with drums, guitar, bass and keyboards.
The Big Day!
On the day, Catherine was breathtakingly stunning while Conor was one handsome and proud husband! The couple decided on Ray LaMontagne’s You Are The Best Thing as their first dance wedding song – what a TUNE! Those gravelly tones mixed with soulful chorus, very sexy but won’t offend the MIL! Can you tell we like it? We LOVE it when a couple chooses a cool song – this one even made it onto the Bentley Boys Top 10 First Dance Wedding Songs for 2015. As you can see above Conor dipped Catherine like a pro during their first dance to the delight and rapturous applause of their guests – the perfect moves to the perfect tune!
How do you follow that? Well, we did with Jason Mraz’s I won’t Give Up – another superb choice from this classy couple who asked that their wedding party join them on the floor for this song. Join them they did and between you, me and the incredible Brooklodge Hotel we ROCKED the floor! The sound of brass and band filled the dance floor for a full three hours and, as you can see, Catherine, Conor and all their friends and family had a truly fantastic night dancing the night away. Thanks guys for the kind words, amazing photos and for allowing us to be part of the magic!
